Introduction
Early in June of 1944 the 12th SS reconnaissance battalion established its headquarters in these grounds. Here were taken over 90 Canadian soldiers who were murdered by the SS in three groups on 8th 9th and 11th June 1944.
Today, ironically, the Chateau d’Audrieu is one of the finest 4 star hotels in Normandy.
